Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

You couldn't make it up. No, really, the Boris Show just gets increasingly preposterous.

Simon Case, bristling with integrity

Simon Case has recused himself from his investigation of the Downing Street Parties and Quizzes on the basis of his conflict of interest. He had a party at his place, too.
Sometimes  I'm watching Live at the Apollo then realise, nope, I'm not.

It is ineptitude of terrifying proportions, isn't it, mrs i? This is what happens when you're a slack bastard.

Then again, we have all sinned against the Good Lord, and also against the The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations, of which there are more than you can possibly imagine. So let's just be grown-ups and say that we have all bunked off to a mate's for a coffee, or nipped round the girlfriend's for a bit of you-know-what, or driven to the West Country to fix our aged mum's only electronic means of access to the outside world. It is not possible to not have broken such a set of asinine restrictions. We weren't mean to anyway. It was an optimisation process, a damping down, a minimisation. Why are we so fucking juvenile? Still, Bojo deserves it. Lazy git.

I wager we will now have a further lockdown in January to stem the Moronic variant and yet nobody has died from it - though everyone who dies this winter (12,000 every week) will be rigourously swabbed and if possible their corpses stacked in the cv column.

When did the word "recused" enter the English lexicon - or is it an Americanism? Seems a nice convenience for people wanting to dodge difficult stuff.
