The theory that all decadent societies go through a period of absurdity shortly before collapse,grows ever more valid. It's a good thing that we maintain a sense of humour,isn't it?

Mr Edgar is too modest to mention it, but he has written a companion piece to this Alan Duncan critique by giving a well-deserved hauling-out to Eleanor Fulton Laing, Con, Epping Forest.
It deserves reading even if one is far from Epping because it shows - and it's important to keep saying it over and over - that the Conservatives are no better than Labour, they just have a slightly different crime profile.
