LES PAUL, LETS HOPE HE WAS IN HEAVEN HALF AN HOUR BEFORE THE DEVIL KNEW HE WAS DEAD

A childhood friend of mine introduced me to the name Les Paul in his search for an electric guitar, not that he could afford an original but it was still very cool, all black with pearl inlay in the neck, just like in the vid.

My mother had a load of Les Paul 78's, not worth anything then but possibly a bob or two now. I'll check if they're still around.

Good innings tho - 94 and never worked a day in his life. I have a spurious memory that, a la Dyson, he couldn't find what he wanted so just made it in his (honoury for he American) shed (tool shop presumably or just 'shop' which is a bit strange).

"Shop" is a contraction of Workshop.

Dear one, the world is waiting for the sunrise.
Ev'ry rose is covered with dew
And while the world is waiting for the sunrise
And my heart is calling you.

The thrush on high his sleepy mate is calling
And my heart is calling you.

RIP
