Stunning exit poll predictions, with Labour predicted to have 410 seats and Tories a mere 131. The first result came in at 11.15 from Sunderland, with Labour holding and Reform doing very well at a close second.
Exciting night ahead - mr mongoose 's crossword should keep you busy while waiting for the results to come in.
Its thin gruel, whatever the result, for the British people.
Working on the crossword now, Mr mongoose.
Watching the results from afar: wipe out for the SNP? Didn't see this predicted.
Fell asleep! FFS! But not a word of truth was being uttered anyway. What happened.A lot of people stayed home and half the Tory vote went to Reform. In Scotland the SNP burned. End. There has been no Labur triumph but there sure as heck been a Tory defeat. Will they learn or will they die?
Asleep, mr mongoose? What happened to up all night, leaning on the windowsill? Ah, well, we're all growing old. As for the future of the Tories - I suspect it lies with the party being dragged centre-wards, under Nigel Farage. He's a charismatic bloke, and he's done remarkably well, from a standing start in an election called early just to defeat his knavish tricks. And well might Sunak say sorry.
Don't know what time it was, mrs i, but it was gone 3 certainly. Woke up at 5:30 with the sun streaming thrugh the windows, the birds singing, and the Tories weeping.
The SNP ladies have been doing actual weeping - with real
tears. I thought the sacked Tories were quite dignified. All the news commentators must have been on Columbian marching powder, as they showed no signs of flagging and kept spouting their nonsense way into the next day.
No, they haven’t learned anything. George Osborne on the ITV election night programme insisting that the answer was to keep mirroring Labour, only in a Tory kinda way, cos elections are won from the centre. Well then why don’t the LibDems win evey time?
Good crossword, mr mongoose. Am stuck on 1 and 2.
1 is a non-straightforward anagram, mrs n.
2 is a pair of substitutins.
Good luck!
Oh I’ve got it now! 🙂
Well done, mrs n. Never doubted you for a minute.
