I trust your friend had a better time at Christmas for sharing it with old friends.
Mr Raft took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to get out and plant garlic. He took it up gardening after your piece inspired him. How difficult can it be to plant garlic? Very easy, it turns out.
Last autumn he harvested a crop and tied the stalks together, hanging them up in the shed. They did well, always a bulb handy when he needed it. Although it was a little like shrunken fairy heads in dimly-lit forest shrine.
