I did rather think this would happen - and that Trump's victory, which is on track to be overwhelming, will have consequences for the world, should he implement his policy objectives. Stopping being the world's police force, stopping the attempt to impose Western "Democracy" on autocratic regimes, closing down the never-ending war, dismantling America's military-industrial complex - well, that will leave Britain rather exposed. We've been a handily-situated military base for the States' war on Russia, and if they no longer need one, Britain may regret the provocative things said and done on Biden's behalf. Maybe Trump will preserve some fondness for the Benighted Isles, as he is half Scottish - but why should he when Scotland's SNP leaders have been downright rude about him? Toothless Sturgeon, prior to his last Presidential term, went so far as to say he would not be allowed to set foot in Scotland. Annoying bluster, of course, but Baldie Swinney is just as bad.
Anyway, unless there's a Civil War, we're about to find out what a Trump presidency will mean for Starmer's Britain. And for the Dwarf Zelensky, of course.

Strange to tell but Kamala did not improve on Biden's vote in a single county in the country. An astonishingly improbable statistical event unless something odd happened either in 2020 or 2024. I think we know.
THe best bit of the night was nearly-in-tears Emily Iknowbest berating Bojo - who smugly and in a compltely delibarate irritating manner answered each of her questions by plugging his book. Poor Emily eventually blew up live on TV, and started swearing later in the night. She was taken off the air and is now presumably weeping into her pillow.
Astonishgly - even after a night such as that - the morons still do not know why they lost.
German govt and economy going tits up (pardon my French). Presages a break up in Europe, particularly when Ukraine surrenders and Trump turns his back. This is just the start. It will get a lot worse. The UK is on the hook economically for the Ukraine debacle - reports are that the UK guaranteed loans to Ukraine.

Some of the excuses have been risible. She only had a few months to make herself known to the electorate (because being Vice-President shrouded her in anonymity); it was all poor old Joe’s fault for not withdrawing from the race earlier (as if they hadn’t known all along that he was not fit for his current term, never mind another one); that uneducated white women let their sistas down (the Democrats have a right to expect uneducated people to vote for them); and above all, uncontrolled social media (cue a rash of deranged persons on TikTok urging anyone whose husband voted for the Orange Hitler to get a divorce). They just don’t get it.
