Beautiful, thank you.
You are very welcome, mr bungalow bill. I posted it because I heard it on Radio 3 that afternoon and was tickled pink that Elgar had written a piece called Evensong - which is the name given by mr ishmael for his musical digressions. When I tracked down recordings of Chanson de Nuit on Youtube, this one took my fancy because the creative who posted it had attached such beautiful moonlight paintings to the piece. Here is what he says about the artist: Henry Pether was an English landscape artist renowned for his depictions of moonlit scenes. His father Abraham and older brother Sebastian Pether also painted moonlit scenes. Together they were known as the "Moonlight Pethers".
Thanks Mrs I. There are so many superb painters whom I do not know and it is always a joy to find them.
has the sun set on british democracy, mrs ishmael...?
or has this great british institution just been eclipsed?
