The Storming of the Bastille

How exciting!  The poor and oppressed snatching at freedom, liberty, equality and fraternity. European leaders shivering as the chill wind of revolution may just infect their own huddled masses, disaffected and poverty-stricken by famine and structural disadvantage.

The main stream meja are maintaining a consistently disapproving view of the Trump supporters. The protesters were obviously having fun, waving their flags as they surged up the stairs, overturning furniture, putting their feet up on desks - which seemed to shock some commentators.

never can keep her bra on, that girl

The violence was all perpetrated by the defenders of law and order.

There's the classic picture of the two goons, one each side of the door into the Chamber, with drawn guns, as the protesters broke the window in the door. Really? Going to shoot someone for breaking into a public space?

And they did shoot dead one woman. Three others died of natural causes. We all know how natural causes tend to catch up with folk when they run up against America's finest. Interviewed by a disapproving reporter one young man strongly defended his fellow protesters,  saying that America was born out of revolution, they were claiming back their country and Trump was the only hope for America. I'm getting round to agreeing with that view.
My heart went out to them - ordinary folk, dazedly aware that their champion - the only one they've had - had been robbed of the election, up against the thugs and goons of the security services. And against the exquisitely groomed and expensively tailored old men of the Establishment,

 dressed like whited sepulchres,

in their superfine wool suits, brilliant white shirts and even whiter fake teeth,

covering a seething, rotting mess of vice, corruption and wealth gained by generations of evil-doing, war-mongering and meddling in the affairs of foreign countries to serve their personal advantage.

Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice.

They have given us into the hand of new unhappy lords,
Lords without anger or honour, who dare not carry their swords.
They fight by shuffling papers; they have bright dead alien eyes;
They look at our labour and laughter as a tired man looks at flies.
And the load of their loveless pity is worse than the ancient wrongs,
Their doors are shut in the evening; and they know no songs.

Thank you, mr bb, I had not come across that poem before, but, having looked it up, it is a perfect choice for the times and the topic: The Secret People by G. K. Chesterton.

And that answers a speculation of mine, mr mike. Interviewed afterwards, the "mob" said they thought it looked very easy to go into the Capitol, so they did. And commentators have been saying how surprising it is that the defences weren't firmer, given that the protest could have been anticipated long in advance of the date. It has cast Trump's supporters in the role of dangerous revolutionaries, thus reinforcing the fears of the timid and swaying opinion further against Trump.

Whatever the truth about false flag crews among the mob (and the debunking has already begun - the hammer and sickle on the hobbit bloke's hand supposedly/apparently is no such thing, for instance) the result is the same; mainstream reinforcement of the idea that anyone unconvinced by the November result must be an unstable crank. And either way, as you say, it's very odd that entry was so easily gained.

Calls to remove or impeach Trump before Biden's inauguration are now gathering steam. Would he be barred from running (presumably as an independent candidate) in 4 years if that happened? Maybe that's the end game here.

Biden looks like a papery husk. "This way, Mr President. Time for another little shot...there's a good boy..."

Mrs I: I've been in the Capitol building, maybe 15 years ago. The security then was very tight. This "mob" thingy doesn't pass the smell test.

Mr Verge: if Trump is impeached or Amendment 25 is invoked then he cannot run for public office again.

This is a cleaning of the stables action: no investigation of the Bidens, Hillary and the Clinton Foundation are in the clear, and the election fraud is past history.

I think that your analysis is right, mr mike. Aided and abetted and presented by the MSM and the Califrutopia tech giants. That just leaves half the country - the armed half - seething.

Mr Smith is ducking his head when he plays the short ball - using the visor of his helmet to "protect" himself. Something is up with him.

Shocking shot by Wade. If I'd have played itin my Devon Evening League days, it would have cost me a team round.

Wade just gone. The good news is the weather is brightening up. Sun forecast for the next few days.

India can still win this, mr mike, but they need to clean them them up with the new ball.
