"Why aren't I 50 points ahead you might ask?" Hmm...well, considering that approximately no-one at all might have asked that, the larger concern is some poor bastard historian or psephologist is probably gonna have to extrapolate 3 words and write a book out of that. Ah, sod 'em, they've no doubt got tenure or fat consultancy fees and a decent drinking habit - beats working for a living and it no doubt takes the pressure off knowing nobody really gives enough of a toss to read the thing. Kerching ching!

What a great year this has been. Its not over yet, and Italy and Austria could put the cherry on the cake.

Yes, indeed, the disdain felt, here, for President Trousers has been ferce and manifest, almost incendiary, since the blog started; not because she's a she, because she's a wicked sonofafuckin'bitch; it has been a good year.

So it's going to be retrenchment everywhere then. And hang on the fuck for dear life. The DNC will just say that they won the popular vote and if they finesse their white, working class offering, Trump's amateurism will fell him. Any old Chinese one-legged trannie next time will walk it. Or perhaps limp it. Mr Tory Blather is back and thinks that a revote will be just what the EU has always wanted. L'establishment Francais will stand together and M Buggins will deny Le Pen the przie. We shall see but I doubt the genie will so meekly climb back into the bottle now that he has had a taste of freedom.

So I see that poor Mair is no a terrorist too. Some crazy bastard has been luring gay blokes to his flat and apparently poisoning them - at least three but maybe many more - and it is the loner eegit who gets a full life tariff and a monster label. "Far right", Nazi", "alt right" - all labels now being bandied about to sully by association, crush the spirit and besmirch the motivations of those who will not play nicely and vote as they are told.

Do we think Le Pen will win? Surely not. They must have an inkling and time enough to keep her out. But she might. And anything could happen over the winter.

I thought Trump would win. I was never sure that I thought he would win kr just hoped he would win but on reflection I did think he would win against Clinton.

As for excluding MleP, well, even the grandees of his own notional party, allied with most of showbiz and media couldn't exclude Donald, and MleP HAS been around, polishing her turds for a long time, that could cut both ways but immigration and Atrocity swell her chorus, another attack would guarantee her victory.

All the stratagems you list are deployed but the evidence is that not only are they ineffective, they are counter- productive.

More later. But briefly, I believe there is every chance of Clinton and Co being indicted. Trump has some very smart, angry and deep,h principled people at his beck and call.

I must away to school but I thought that Trumpo saying that going after Hillary would be divisive was a masterstroke. That is after all law enforcement's job and it holds out the better than even chance that Obama will forbear to pardon her in the meantime.

Mike said...

I agree mr mongoose. Stops Obama pardoning, and if Guiliani becomes AG then the gloves are off. Anyway, the FBI are still investigating the foundation gig and they will now be emboldened.

callmeishmael said...

It may not be Rudi, as AG, there is a much smarter guy, Trey Gould, I think, Carolina congressman and chair of the commitee investigating Clinton, as well as broadsiding that dreadful Loretta Lynch, AG, who bumped into Clinton coincidentally, on his jet. The guy is dynamite, if only we had someone like him, instead of cocksucking filth like Oily Vaz. If Trey gets to prosecute the Clintons the whole vile, vicioushouse of cards will collapse. I will find a link. I should think that this guy wouldn't give a fuck if Hillary Clinton had been pardoned by God Al-fucking-mighty Himself, never mind the prat, Obama.

Trey Gowdy it is, I think. Terrifying. Imagine PsychoBlair's non-meaning trying to hide in the darkness from that laser beam.

Trey Gowdy, Mr I. Yes I've had my eye on him and agree he would be a great pick for AG. Rudi has to go somewhere though.

Seen Ms Le Pen a few times, going through PBC interviewers like the proverbial through a goose. As I said down the road she makes Trump look like something that fell out of a tree. If she parks her arse in the Elysee she`ll stuff the EU down the drain, no one`ll have to worry about Brexit then.

As to stopping her I`m on record here as saying Big Money would do anything to stop the volatile unchained Trump; black ops, ballot fiddling, even the Man On The Grassy Knoll dusting off the old sniperscope. Which was bollocks, wasn`t it ? Maybe they did to some extent, Killary even won the popular vote but the Dumpster gets to hang his hairpiece in the White House.

Le Pen might change things finally, a lot more than Farage or Trump.

Tray Gowdy is fab but I also think he will not necessarily prosecute. If he is what he appears, the man has that streak of compassion where he will look at an old broken woman and may stay his hand. She deserves to stand trial but this is politics and I'm with Mr Mongoose; it will be positioned as Trump being statesman-like.

I am not clear about what he has to gain from pursuing her. Chances are her own side will finish her off - if they have any sense - as they've got to get on with finding new candidates. She and Bill have more money than they could ever possibly spend and they will go to their graves in very luxurious shrouds. She could push off and have her girlfriends now and nobody would even notice.

If MleP is elected, it will twist the knife in to her. I am not sure she can physically survive that kind of humiliation.

Amen to all of the above and your most recent observations Mr I (love the Banana Man - Thunderbirds thing - pity they smashed up the 'Ed-Stone' - big and heavy enough to have buried the whole Zanu-Labour tribe for eternity under). My eyes are on the 4 December Italian constitutional referendum just now. If Renzi loses it could get real interesting with wild man Beppe waiting in the wings.

Trey Gowdy, that's him, a hard name to fix in one's mind, I had never seen him until a long night, last night, leaning on the window sill, a brandy and soda nursing me and I was Youbound, watching clip after clip and wondering, How did someone like this wind-up in politics?

Will he cleanse the filthy stables; who knows but at the very least he is in no uncertain terms talking Truth to Filth, and the more that happens, the greater the undermining of the I-Know-Bestism which succours MediaMinster. I expect that school playgrounds, college and universoty debating societies are breeding Gowdys by the thousand, asking questions until recently deemed unaskable.

To mrs woar's point, I do believe that Gowdy can contain both compassion and retribution, and I actually part comopany from her on the matter of punishing the elderly, who have, in Clinton's case, engineered their own distress, as well as that of many, many others. Any sentyence is a matter for the courts, of course, but we do not shrink from at least charging and prosecuting elderly Nazis and it may be, upon invstigation, that Clinton's conduct approaches Hermann levels, if not in scale then in vicious, anti-democratic purpose. I have just recently watched a lot of this stuff and have been left breathless at the scale of the Clinton camp's vicious, ruthless contempt for truth, she and hers are pathological liars, cynical, ruthless, grinning fascists, time she was pilloried, aslong with her grimy pseudo-spouse, and then, as mr bungalow bill uncosnciously predicts, we might see the apprehension and charging of Tony, Imelda, Snotty, Campbell, Straw and Mandelstein, all of whose sphincters must be a-tremble.

call me ishmael said...

It depends, mr tdg, on how we define skill and important that we do not conflate it with Virtue, she has certainly capitalised politically on the failures of those traditionally considered more adroit. My limited exposure to her makes me feel that she can posture and sloganise with the best and worst of them, the only necessary qualities for the Badlands of Social Media. As you know, I despise all of them; some, however, perhaps unkowingly may serve a revolutionary purpose.

call me ishmael said...

I agree, mr yardarm, even unelected she may wreak havoc in the Halls of Ruin but I think I heard a report a moment ago - as we have expected - about another attack on les freres Christian, and a resultant exchange of martyrs, a matter for which the Establishment will properly be blamed and for which MleP will be seen as the remedy.

I agree, also, that Europe is an infinitely more influential Cradle of Discord than is the United States.

Even if it is only here, mr sg, someone should note the criminal rottenness of Hills's boy, Miliband. I think I suggested long ago he would be deployed in the manner you describe, c ooling his heels, betimes, on ten thousand opounds a week of charity money. Fucking incredible.

I had not heard of him either, Trey, but he seems a decent sort of truth-seeker. And he is not a kid and so is unlikely yo be swept away to cheating and lying now. So good luck to these thoughts and let us see what can be done.

As to Hillary, Mrs WOAR is right - there is nothing to gain politically. Trey, or whoever gets the gig, I hope, might see though as AG that that political thought aside, there is justice to be won still. Any sentence pursuant to conviction can take care of the age and decrepitude of the miscreant. It is never alright for the powerful to eat the cabinboy but the guilty can receive a punishment appropriate that is less than the rope.

There is a further mischief afoot this last while in the selective use of language. We wondered here - or I did anyway - how various "progressive" ideas suddenly sprang to importance in different domains - gay marriage etc. Not that such isn't fair and sensible but just that it sptang up all over unbidden. And too language now instead of the issue is being used across borders to corral and insult the nonbeliever. Climate "denier" is an old tainted slur but "Nazi" direct? And poor Mair's labels too numerous to catalogue here. All the KKK stuff, banning of university speeches and meetings... The latest, noted above, is "populism", the last refuge of the wrong sort of democracy. The newest version of this is the old Macarthyite meme of the Commie-loving, Russian-licking traitorous bastard bying the US Presidency and undermining the EU too. Simple Blairite triangulation, I thought. Goddam reds is what we are. It is odd cold war, Strangelove rhetoric. They are tying it all together in a neat box of unforgiven nonconformity. If you are not with them, you are against them. And Blair's specific latest is the wide angle, off-the-planet EU recount - an alternative thrown on the table to leave us happy at the anything less horrible that eventually transpires.

It might be salutary after all to throw the sad old loser in the slammer. To encourage the rest.

callmeishmael said...

As I said, my awareness of Trey is but a day or two old and the ability for almost anyone to view his Greatest Hits at will is a development as yet unguaged, he may surge out as quickly as he has been able to surge in but his righteous rhetoric - I have yet to hear him say We Are Where We Are or The Devil, As Ever, Is In The Detail - must surely inspire and temper a more seasoned discourse, he conjures the shade of Lenny Bruce in his clinging to the idea and the rule of The Law; have we nonesuch hereabouts?

I mentioned the recent broadcasting of a shocking clip covering the peremptory machine-gunning of Mr'n'Mrs Caecescu, their blowhard indignation reminiscent of the witch, Clinton's, who, I feel, deserves to be similarly publicly shorn of her bogus dignity, denied her endless self-congratulation, that would do, for her to stand in the dock, damned, not worth a bullet.

I think that the greater the colonisation of the language by the shouty unGodly, the more determined will be the resistance to it; if Susan Farron is its poster-girl it hardly needs refutation.

Fuck me, mr mongoose, from where do such florid, wordy constructions spring, here, at first Northern light?
