All a bit cloudy round here. Curses!
Where's the house price angle, Mr I?
The Mail will demand it.
The devils seems to be back in residence in No 10. In this new game he puts oil on the soles of the shoes of the LDs and watches them fall on their arses in the marble hall of the town-house.
They are in governement, obliged to vote for the compromises they said they would not...and yet somehow the ministerial posts are skidding away from them.
iDave is a suspiciously lucky bugger, if you ask me.
Phenomenally lucky, but would he win a majority in a snap election, that's the thing?
All seems a bit rigged, really.
Rigged or not, mr dtp, if it furthers the repoliticisation of our consumer nation, it is a good thing; all the kids for whom Cleggie and his scum have provided a priceless lesson; anyone whose kid has a cracked head from the demos, any hapless bystander unlawfully kettled by Old Bill, any retail worker dumped on the dole in January, one of Limitless Growth's disappointed servants; vast swathes of public sector workers, disabled, elderly and vulnerable people of every description and then there's the child benefit deprived middle class, many of them trapped in badly-run privatised airports or badly-run privatised trains, smarmed at by the slimeball, Hammond, fucked over by the banks, robbed by the privatised utilities companies and now aghast at the antics of Cable and the Toileteers. Merry Christmas and a Happy Anarchy New Year.
I hope you're right but, alas, suspect that it's gone too far; nobody gives a fuck about anyone or anything. Politicians are a self aggrandising & deluded smokescreen of middle managers with fuck all authority, influence, ability who as soon as a pretty girl turns up and laughs cocquettishly, bats her eyelids - they spill the err..beans, so to speak.
It's almost like divide and conquer, by stratifying every interest group, political party, profession, clique, individual into a composite of their priorities - it's done, fucked, ended. Vince Cable - ffs, just another cunt and Murdoch gets blown off by some Thai bride, again.
Sad to report but Cameron is playing a blinder, Mr Ishmael. I cannot believe that he thought this all up by himself.
The problem with a snap election is that it is too soon, not enough pain, not enough sacked yet, not enough repossessed houses, and anyway the LibDummies would be eviscerated, vapourised - laughing stock that they have become. My granny would get more votes than Nick Clegg and she has been dead this thirty years.
It was the election to lose and Cameron has ensured that Clegg lost it. Brilliant, horrible, cynical.
PS Poor Cable! That it has come to this, eh, Vince. Eegit.
The date of the election may not be iDave's to choose, and it is my judgement that he has just been lucky with Cablegate, nothing sinister or Machiavellian. Vince is publicly humiliated and his powder soaked, doesn't mean that the Coalition cannot fall, upon his departure. It would then depend upon whether or not the Millibandians had the bottle to force an election - or whether they would be happy to see the Tories blundering on, making cuts which they themselves would make and avoiding the blame, either through strategic voting or via a govament of national unity, Labour taking the part currently played by the ToiletGang; as we have often said they all have far more in common with each other than they do with us, party politics these days just a convenient illusion.
Cable, the pompous hand wringing ninny should have walked but if the had a shred of integrity he and the other Liberals would still be in opposition.
Opposition is vital, opposition is good, rightly conducted. It`s the holding to account of the careerist haveIgotasolutionforyou merchants that gravitate to power. We may have had shit governments all my life but we`ve had shit oppositions too, hence Ruin. Even the mighty and belligerent Plantagenets had to approach the Commons for funds for their wars.
A GNU is still in prospect; espec if elder Miliband takes over as Junior further reveals his uselessness.
As my sainted Grandmother was wont to say, "If you're going to act like a twat, wear a funny hat".
In this regard, at least, Cable is beyond reproach.
In my limited experience of shouting at politicians - I would say that Cleggy told Cameron to go fuck himself.
And that is one side of the coin, Mr DtP. The other is that Cameron keeps Cable as a eunuch because it puts another shackle on Clegg. Clegg gets Vince - who is politically dead - and Cameron gets leverage through favour and a weakened captain to a Machiavellian friend/foe. It is a Tory win. The bastards.
At least you are consistent, mr m, having taken this line from the start. I don't believe, however, that Cameron has the skill, the intelligence or the foresight with which you credit him, he is just a shallow, wealthy bullyboy. There is no doubt that he lives up to his Flashman moniker by taking advantage of others' failures as they happen but that's just because he's a cunt, in life and in politics. I suppose time will tell who has fell and who's been left behind but I wouldn't buy shares in him.
Did Cable fuck up? Cui bobo? Dog whistle to the left 'Murdoch's a cunt'?
Who falls asleep first? Eh...i'll get me coat.
I don't believe that he has those things either, Mr I, but some bastard in there is a canny swine. Cable was the only one who could bring it all down - as he rather foolishly shared with us all the other day - and , indeed, look thee, he didn't get fired, did he? But he is now politically dead. Waiting for his ermine and his afternoon snoozes in the Lords. Over and out. Silly old sod running off at the mouth to a pair of lovelies. All that effort and the lies and what for? A half-hour's boasting to a pair of gals half his age. Foxtrot Oscar, indeed, you old fool.
It seems that whatever we do, the government gets in. Time after time. Wears you down in the end. Sometimes it gets so hard to care. It can't be, can it, this way everywhere?
