EVENSONG, MR BIG BILL BROONZY, THE GLORY OF LOVE.

An interesting aspect of Uncle Sam's cultural history is that one of its most influential components was segregated from decent white klan members; many of its most globally significant artists were, in our lifetimes, segregated at best, tarred and feathered, gelded and lynched, at worst; Big Bill managed to avoid that.

He used to say he didn't worry too much if a string was out of tune, he'd just bend it back in when he played it. Maybe he just bent himself, too, to the polite semi-tone required to make a living entertaining white folks in England, who knows - If you's black, oh brother, get back, get back, get back. This one is in a lighter shade of blue.
