I believe there are dark alleys in cyberspace down which people of a certain emotional disposition wander, hoping to view episodes of ritualised humiliation. Although these rituals may involve genitalia and bodily functions they are a long way from what most of us would consider a form of sexual activity - people verbally abuse each other, slap, punch and kick each other around, urinate and defecate on each other and Oh, I don't know what else, there's nothing new under the Sun, I suppose and I suppose, also, that if these worshippers at the shrine of degradation are happy to so desport themselves then it is none of my business.
Dire, gross and cruel public humiliation, however, that's another matter and I wonder is we should not, as a nation, complain to the broadcasting authorities about the recent, sustained public beasting of former Education Secretary, Mr Uriah Spit.
Yes, prime minister.
I was away for most of the spivs reshuffle but I caught a bit of Michael Gimp being pissed on; I have loathed him since I first saw his vile concoction of ingratiation and I-Know-Bestism, a bullying Murdoch hack and thus a vastly overpromoted Tory spearcarrier,
friendless save for the likes of the worthless, people like Toby Wotsit.
Wotsit, a serious Goveite thinker.
but for an instant I felt sorry for him as, instead of licking his wounds and snarling for vengeance, he sought to further ingratiate himself with his tormentor, it was a pathetic demonstration of self abnegation which I wish I hadn't seen. The job he loved given to some airhead Tory bint who couldn't, I am sure, do her seven times table; his salary cut and his voice in the commons silenced and yet he spoke of the honour given him by Dave Thicko, how flattered he was to be pissbucket to the far more incompetent Bullingdon gangsters, drenched in the prime minister's piss he was setting forth immediately, to win the general election. Education? A trifle, a backwater, Ms Shithead is more than up to it, anyone could do that. For all his prideful bluster and oily bombast, the man who made to schoolchildren a self-aggrandising present of the Education Seckatry's King James' Bible finished up on the floor, soaked in piss, making a present of himself to the prime minister's enemies. Poor little Uriah.

Life imitating the Private Eye cartoon wherein oiky Gove fags for the prefects and bends over when required. There is some poignancy that the Aberdeen adoptee should have been so brutally fucked over in the end but he could never really have hoped to pass muster could he. What hope for the excruciating Esther McVey the moronic breakfast TV person who's now allowed to fellate Dave and George in Cabinet? How long will she last with her WIrral hairdresser's elocution? But in modern Britain class doesn't matter any more.
However distasteful it was, the fact that he tolerated it means he deserved it; that he, himself, tried to peddle his demotion as being given a huge responsibilty must surely damn him in the eyes of friend anf foe alike. His wife and children should leave him.
Gove's just biding his time. He knows CMD hasn't got long left, once he loses the next GE, and he fancies his chances as leader (OK I know thats daft, but its what is in his mind).
He won't poison his chance by any disloyalty now, and then be accused of losing the election.
I agree with Mike. Gove is the most capable politician in the Westminster Tory party and he has had to eat an awful lot of humble pie
The Bullingdon`s let little oiky Speccy Loser Gove tag along with them as their token prole but when Lynton Crosby told the snotters they needed some token totty poor little Speccy Loser was out of the gang.
It`s great watching some grasping prick denied his damned entitlement.
Capable means more than displaying a nostalgic fondness for by-rote learning, mr rr; capable managers in any sphere are capable of taking the workforce with them and of working with their colleagues, Oiky could do neither. He could certainly frame his nonsense in agreeable language but his education policy was informed by his reading of the Big Book of Great Eleven-plus Questions, a copy of which I regularly turn to, myself and his slavish addiction the Tomfoolery of Schools for Obnoxious Pushy Parents only underscored his own chippiness.
I disagree, vain, stupid and absurdly dogmatic, Govey was the worst of a very lacklustre bunch; that he is neither Spiv nor Son of Spiv is his only - accidental - quality and his much vaunted foresight and perspicacity are, given his demise, rather ovestated, don't you think; a smart man would've seen that coming miles away.
He is just like the rest of them in Westminster. He is only a politician, nothing more.
Roget puts "politics" in its rightful place in his Thesaurus.
Spot-on, mr yardarm but I think the piss from this will flow in all directions, back up Cameron's leg, with any luck; he did have admirers, Govey, as did the other ejectees, some of whose fans will now be snifing at Mr Nigel's fruitcake, to see if it contains the odd raisin of revenge, sultana of schadenfreude. Dirtier, this gang, even than the bitch, Portillo, and his arseholers.
As to Gove, I admire a man of principle who tries to uphold standards. Perhaps Mr I living in the windswept northern fastness you don't see the charmless feral kids aka schoolchildren? Lots of us do
The my kids, luvem2bits, me, generation? I think I have lamented, at length, their and their parents' value-free conduct, mr rr. That they are a problem does not mean that a gabshite such as Gove is a solution. As for principles how many u-turns dud Gove make? Against the distracting plethora of information portals, against the vulgar stupidity of shoulda-been-sterilised parents and against a backdrop of politically motivated meddling from thieving bastard, degenerate, shit-eating, child molesting criminals in MediaMinster, the wonder is not how little teachers achieve but how much.
Symptomatic of the national ailment was govament's assumption, unchallenged by Govey, that teachers' primary role is that of childminder to the disorderly, that parents' right to go to work is the national priority and what teachers are there to facilitate. It is such attitudes, rather than teachers wanting fair terms, which fuel the education crisis. Oh, and the existence of places such as Eton, too.
It was not standards which Gove was trying to uphold but facetious prejudice. I am a direct grant grammar school pupil and there is categorically no place in today's world for the teaching methods which took me to King Edward's. I wish there was but there isn't. Better parenting and a modern, depoliticised education system, that's what we need, not some gibbering gabshite like Gove, redneck, reactionary and wholly destructive. Writing a foreword to the Bible? God fucking help us.
