EVENSONG: Roy Harper - When An Old Cricketer Leaves The Crease

  1. Continuing the cricket metaphor...

'For when the One Great Scorer comes to write against your name, He marks not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.'

Roy Harper. Used to play the 'Red Lion' in Kings Heath.

  7. Very sad news Mr I. It has taken the shine right off my day. Though I never saw Buster I learned something of his life here. Enough to irrationaly care what happens anyway. So goodbye Buster the blog dog and thanks for the story of you going to the vets that reduced me to helpless laughter.

  16. Oh no, Mr Ishmael, oh no. So wretchedly sad. These animals we share our lives with so often seem to be the best of ourselves, and their passing is a unique and terrible pain. May his end have been quiet and calm.
